John E. Blount’s role as our Chief Operating Officer allows him to direct his strengths and expertise toward meeting IHT’s operational objectives at all levels and from numerous perspectives.
IHT benefits from John’s cumulative talents for new venture development, strategic and goal specific business planning, private and public placement of securities, and management of multi-facility operations, leadership, and team building. For more than 30 years, John Blount sharpened his management skills by founding, developing, and managing healthcare companies. These six companies, in the aggregate, engaged more than 2,500 hospital and physician partners in 85 ventures.
At HCA’s Centennial Hospital, John E. Blount began his career as a hospital manager. He was a founder and director of Heritage Group, a company that developed and managed a total of 38 imaging centers, surgery centers, and lithotripsy ventures. He served as a founder, director, and EVP of Development for Heritage Surgical Corporation. The company merged with Surgical Health Corporation, Inc. and became the third largest ambulatory surgery center company in the country. At Heritage Health Systems, a company that formed Independent Practice Associations (“IPAs”), managed such IPAs, and secured capitated provider contracts on the IPA’s behalf, John’s roles included founder, director, and EVP for Development. As President and CEO of Molecular HealthCare Group, he facilitated the sale of CTI’s Positron Emission Tomography (“PET”) products and services.
